7:00 pm:  Unlocking the Mystery of the Teenage Brain - with Dr. Lori Perez, the executive director of the ERG


This seminar is recommended for parents and educators seeking knowledge and understanding of the effects cognitive skills---visual and auditory processing, working and long-term memory, and attention skills, among others---have on learning and performance. Examine the role these skills play in developing executive functioning skills. The course is fun and interactive and includes information about new brain research and how it affects various aspects of our life including communication, sports, friendships, home life and academics. The course also provides methods for detecting those with weaker skills and tools to strengthen those skills.

Bio: Dr. Lori Perez is the executive director of the ERG which was recognized by CHADD as an Innovative Program in 2018. She is a nationally certified school psychologist specializing in early intervention and the neuropsychological origins of learning disorders. She is the Department Chair and a Professor of Psychology at Anne Arundel Community College. Dr. Perez has presented and published at both the local and national levels and has served as an educational consultant to various school districts in the area.
