7:00 pm: Parenting Strategies for Managing Youth with ADHD
The goals of the presentation are to introduce evidence-based parenting strategies to intervene for youth with ADHD and disruptive behavior. Specifically, the presentation will provide an overview of underlying reasons for disruptive behavior, steps for changing behavior, and interventions to improve compliance and self-control.
Meghan Geary, Ph.D. is currently completing her second year of postdoctoral fellow at the Behavior Management Clinic within the Department of Behavioral Psychology at the Kennedy Krieger Institute. Meghan’s areas of research include Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder in children and adolescents and interventions targeting homework completion.
Alicia Sullivan, M.S. is currently completing her doctoral internship year at the Behavior Management Clinic within the Department of Behavioral Psychology at the Kennedy Krieger Institute. Alicia’s areas of research include culturally and linguistically diverse populations.
Jaime Benson, Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist and Nationally Certified School Psychologist at the Behavior Management Clinic within the Department of Behavioral Psychology at the Kennedy Krieger Institute. She is the Director of Clinical Services for the Behavior Management Clinic- Odenton location.
Susan Perkins-Parks, Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist and Director of the Behavior Management Clinic. She also holds a faculty appointment in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
